Growing Instructions (included in the pack):
- Hydrate the soil pellets with twice their volume of water and transfer them to the pots supplied.
- Sow the seeds and cover them with 5mm of soil.
- Place in a warm and light position.
- Keep the soil damp but make sure you do not overwater the plants.
- Once seedlings appear, thin them out by removing the smallest plants, leaving the strongest 2-3 seedlings more room to grow.
- When seedlings are mature (have grown 5 or more leaves) transplant them with the pot into their final growing position in your garden.
- Feed the plants with quality produce specific fertiliser (flower fertiliser, herb and vegetable fertilisers).
NOTE: Keep soil moist but not wet. If soil turns light brown, use a spray bottle to rehydrate so that seeds don’t get dislodged.
- Flowers:
- Giant Sunflower: Plant the seedlings 50cm apart to give the plants plenty of space and the flowers room to fully develop.
- English Lavender: Once established, lavender is fairly drought tolerant and doesn’t like to be overwatered.
- Nasturtium Trailing Mix: Plant 20cm apart and provide trellis or support if you want the plants to climb.
- Herbs:
- Mint: Keep the soil well watered and snip off the outside stems as required.
- Basil: Easy to grow indoors or out, keep well watered and harvest the leaves as you need them.
- Rosemary: A hardy and drought tolerant herb that prefers well-drained soil. Harvest by cutting the branches and stripping off the leaves.
- Vegetables:
- Lettuce: Harvest by picking individual leaves as required.
- Cucumber: The cucumbers will need approx 1m² space to grow. Harvest when the cucumbers are bright green and firm.
- Tomatoes: Support the tomato plants with canes or trellis. Harvest when the fruit is red and ripe.
