Australia’s Strongest Mosquito Killer Trap
This is the best mosquito killer trap for Australian conditions that combines 4-way protection to maximize the mosquito capturing ability.
Take a stand against flying insects with our brand new Mosquito Eater – Mosquito Killer Trap. Comes complete with a stand and the additional pulling power of water to achieve backyard insect control. The unit and stand equate to 1.1 metres in height and the trap draws 15W of electricity. (Less than most lightbulbs)
We all appreciate the dangers of mosquitoes in Australia, however, now we have a product that can take an extra step to assist with the fight. Our newly introduced Mosquito Killer Trap is exactly that. This trap has 4-way protection and that is why this trap is fastly becoming our most popular:
- A UF fluorescent bulb generates a warm light that attracts flying insects towards the mosquito trap.
- Our second advantage is our strongly coated surface that produces Tio2 titanium dioxide. This process produces small quantities of CO2, the same gas we exhale that attracts the female mosquito, the one that bites us.
- This is our only trap that users a water tray around the trap, this attracts mosquitoes for laying eggs.
- Finally our powerful, yet whisper-quiet vacuum fan collects all the insects and retains them in the holding chamber, where they dehydrate and die.
- Optional: Try the optional irresistible Mosquito Booster that you can add to the holding chamber to encourage the mosquitoes to the trap and greatly improve your mosquito catch rate.

Frequently Asked Questions about the Mozzie Eater Mosquito Trap:
What is the best mosquito Trap?
Pestrol is the largest supplier of DIY pest control solutions and has the biggest range of Mosquito Traps on the Australian market. Depending on the size and area that you wish to control, from indoors to outdoors, look at our full range.
Do mosquito traps work?
Pestrol has been in business close to 20 years, over which time we have sold literally 10’s of thousands of mosquito traps. Mosquito traps are a great way of breaking the breeding cycle and eliminating mosquitoes in and around your property. Pestrol prides itself on using chemical-free products and our mosquito traps use the power of warm light and many other mosquitoes attracting technologies to bring the mosquitoes close to the machine, from where they get sucked down into a dry storage chamber and die.
How do I trap mosquitoes in my house?
Pestrol has a range of indoor mosquito traps to assist with reducing the annoyance of getting bitten indoors or not sleeping due to the sound of mosquitoes buzzing around our heads. Check out the Assassin Mosquito Trap and also our Sleep Easy Trap.
Does UV light attract mosquitoes?
UV light attracts mosquitoes in a variety of ways. Firstly the frequency that the light produces attracts mosquitoes towards the light source, secondly, the warmth that is created replicates humans and this further is used as an attractant to get the mosquitoes away from us and towards the mosquito trap.
How long has the Mosquito Eater Mosquito Trap been on the market in Australia?
The Mosquito Eater is the newest edition of our outdoor range of mosquito control products. Having been released in October 2019, we believe that the increased feature of the water tray around the top of the unit will assist with attracting more mosquitoes that are looking for water to breed. Our team in the office tested the trap last summer and as a result, this is why we have added it to our range.
Is the Mosquito Eater trap noisy?
No, just a small computer like a fan that is used to create downdraft to suck mosquitoes into the dry storage chamber, from where they cannot escape and dehydrate and die.
How long does it take for the Mozzie Eater trap to work?
Unfortunately, this is not an immediate solution. That is, you can’t just turn the light on and all the mosquitoes in the area are gone. This process is about elimination over time and breaking the breeding cycle. You will find that you will have a noticeable difference after the first week, but a complete reduction within 3-4 weeks. You can increase your mosquito trap catching ability by using the optional attractant to place in the water. This acts as a supercharging effect and mosquitoes are drawn to the irresistible lure and many more mosquitoes are caught and trapped inside the mosquito trap.
Is it easy to set up the Mosquito Eater Trap?
Yes, literally take it out of the box, connect the stand to the base in 3 easy steps, find a powerpoint and switch it on.
Where should I place the Mosquito Eater?
Place the mozzie trap away from any other competing light, preferably in a cooler, shaded area. We recommend moving it at least 20 feet from your preferred outdoor sitting or dining areas.
What other insects does it control other than mosquitoes?
The Mosquito Eater Mozzie Trap attracts and kills many flying insects including mosquitoes, biting flies, Asian beetles, no see-ums, wasps, hornets, moths, stink bugs, and more. The Mosquito Killer Trap will not catch butterflies, honeybees or bumblebees as they are not attracted to CO2 or light.
Is it safe to use around my family and pets?
Yes, as this trap is chemical-free, it is safe to use around your family and pets. This product also has all the electrical approvals for Australia and NZ standards.

Best device I ever purchased. The mozzies/moth are attracted to it all the time and night-time is mozzie free around the entire outdoor living area. First time ever I’ve been able to enjoy being mozzie free living outdoors at night. During the day, there are no flies/mites buzzing around either. The boosters really work. Really easy to clean as well. Thank you from our entire family on producing this quality device.

I live on acreage, and I’ve got two towers on different sides of my house. The fan is super quiet, and the automatic light sensor is the best as the lamp/fan only comes on at night (unless you tape over the sensor). Its also rain proof, which gives me peace of mind (although, I wouldn’t have them out in heavy rain – I keep mine under partial cover and they have been fine in all weather).
FYI – in my experience the globes need replacing every 6-12 months. Occasionally the fan stops working. Usually it’s a dead gecko that’s caught on the blade. Get a screwdriver and pry it out and the fan will come back on.

Very good, basically cleared our outdoor area of mosquitos after a couple of months

Works as described. Our outdoor entertaining area is bug free. Thank you

I will admit- I plugged this in and imagined there would immediately be a swarm of mosquitoes around the machine fighting to get to the light. While this wasn’t the case, it has killed hundreds of mosquitos and moths over the last few weeks, we have been really impressed. Arrived really quickly after purchase too.
Pros- looks good, super quiet, is a bug killing machine, easy to empty
Cons- takes a while for the bugs to die, so sometimes when it’s emptied there are moths still alive in it

This mosquito eater is awesome. We had a lot of mosquitoes and the mosquito eater lived up to its name and was full of mosquitoes. It certainly attracts them and it was full after 3 days. An amazing product. I highly recommend this and my friend has purchased one after seeing mine. It is stylish and easy to set up. Service was prompt too.

Caught so many mosquitoes!
The instructions are not overly comprehensive, but we worked it out.
Fan is mildly noisy, quite fine outside.

This works really well. I’m surprised how many it has caught already. We had a severe mosquito problem and it’s visibly improved already after only 6 days.
The mosquitoes seem to love the booster, I have seen them sitting on it and a few have crawled inside the booster pack.
Photos are results after 6 days of continuous running using water tray and booster, emptied into the rubbish bin.

Bought it a few weeks back now but this thing attracts everything – more moths than mosquitos at the moment but this is OK. The capture funnel blocks up very easily with the moths but all in all very happy with the automation and ability to attract insect life. After a few more months I should have reduced this significantly.

Seems to be working great. Mosquitoes are almost all gone in last few weeks of summer. Will be interesting to see how next full summer fares. I’m quietly confident.
Christopher Skjoedt (verified owner) –
Great mosquito trap, so far I haven’t seen a single mosquito.
Phillip (verified owner) –
Excellent unit did the job no problems got rid of our mozzie problem

East to assemble and within a week of operation most of the mozzies had disappeared from my front yard. I do have to empty the catch can daily due to amount of small moths that get caught inside the trap housing.
