Free Floating Aquatic Weed Control

Use the Free Floating Aquatic Weed Control to rid your water feature/water body of Azolla, Duckweed and Salvinia. This water surface clearer is the way to go for natural weed control. It can be used for dams, ponds, farm dams and many more water bodies. Known for its herbicidal properties, this product is enriched by orange oil extracts. With 0 withholding period, this product is safe to use. Use water immediately after application as it is non-toxic to livestock, domesticated animals, pets, marine life and humans.

How does it work?

When the weed control covers the surface of the leaves, it disrupts the cuticle, breaking down or dissolving the waxy coating on plant cell walls. It also contributes to the desiccation or burndown of young tissues. This results in the plant losing its ability to retain water. The damaged leaf cells leak water and the plants die of dehydration.

Mix 1 part of the product with 100 parts of water and spray onto the water surface. Best to administer a few light applications than a heavy one.

Best Practice

We recommend full applications on day 1, day 2 and day 4. For best results, ensure there is visible free water in between the floating matter. If coverage is at 100%, partially remove some of the floating matter before applying Water Surface Clearer.

How to Use

This product works best when surface matter is small and manageable. It’s advised to do several light applications, instead of a single heavy dose. Ensure that the full surface area of the water is treated. Where no free-floating matter is present, apply lightly and evenly. For large infestations covering up to 90% of the water’s surface – partially remove sections of the infestation to create space for the treated matter to sink. In such instances, we recommend applying an extra 20% of the product to ensure saturation.

Dams, Reservoirs and Ponds: 1L per 500msq of surface area.
