Single Catch Pigeon Trap
Single Catch Pigeon Trap is the perfect way to catch troublesome larger birds at your place.
This ready assemble bird trap is part of a larger range of BIRD TRAPS that Pestrol offers to commercial and Home end-users for all types of applications.
We have found that whole corn is generally the preferred bait because most smaller, non-targeted birds cannot feed on the large kernels. Other grains, popcorn, sunflower seeds, peas, greens, dried bread, fig bars or peanuts also can be effective if the birds are feeding on similar food.
These bird traps are a favourable solution to humanely trap them. Once caught you can simply drive the bird to release at another location.
Setting our pigeon traps is very easy and effective. We recommend feeding the birds for at least a few days prior to introducing the trap. This will result in more pigeons coming to the area looking for food, allowing you to gain their trust in the process. Upon acquiring the birds’ trust, you’ll find that they will be more willing to go into the cage. In turn, this will make your pigeon trap more successful in the catching process.

I’d give this 6 stars if I could.
Simple and effective design… I caught the 2 pest birds (Indian mynas) on the first day using this trap.
I added a small mirror to lure them in.
I was considering traps costing 4x as much … glad I got this one instead.

My bedroom is adjacent to the balcony. For the past month or so at 7am, there’s a Spotted Dove that’s been cooing loudly and incessantly on the balcony through my window every day. I work arvo shifts, early morning is still shut eye for me. After a week or two I had enough. The pigeon is going.
I ordered the trap and baited the b*stard with an open cage for a few days. Then it was time to engage. (I used Frankie Small Bird Wild Seed Mix).
The first two birds I caught were actually Indian Mynas, arguably a more pestilent bird. I humanely dispatched one but the other escaped as I was careless when handling the cage that early morning. The next few days were uneventful. So I added a few upgrades…
I recorded the coos, added a bluetooth speaker to play the sounds and put a mirror in front of the speaker, all inside the cage. It was instant success the very next day. As my luck would have it, I caught another one [Spotted Dove] using the feral cat trap also sold here on the front porch! Needless to say, I can now sleep in peace and there’s three less feral pests in this country.
